Key piece of hospital IT system goes live

A major piece of the new shared regional
computer health platform, involving patient
clinics and admissions, goes live on 8 December.
WebPAS, a new patient administration
system, will, over time, centralise patient
records across the lower North Island.
MidCentral District Health Board has been
moving its core clinical systems to a shared
system over the past six months. This will
enable clinicians to be able to access patients’
information from any hospital in the region.
Patient information is now presented in a
uniform way across the region and is
available in one place instead of in separate
information systems.
MidCentral, Wairarapa and Whanganui
DHBs are the first to move to the platform
and will be joined in time by Hawke’s Bay,
Capital & Coast, Hutt Valley DHBs.
